Iconic book by a young Briton and his companion about their three year hike through the length of Africa before the turn of the century. Highly regarded and important work of travel, hunting and adventure. Numerous encounters with wild elephants and savage tribes.

377 pp with numerous black & white photos and half-tone illustrations and 2 folding maps (all present - slight tears to map at hinges).

The book is in original decorated mustard cloth, top and bottom of spine are scuffed with corners lightly bumped, some light marks to spine. There is an ownership stamp inside as well as names and numbers (small).
