A beautifully bound copy of this scarce volume on game-bird shooting in Great Britain, 185pp., of which no other de-luxe copies are listed for sale, possibly making this a unique, bespoke copy, made to order for the aristocratic Loder family (see note below); marbled end-papers, gilt dentelles, gilt ruling and ornate decorations of game birds on front cover, top edge gilt, fore- and bottom edges uncut. The only points to note are: the bookplate of Alan Lupton affixed to f.p.e-p.(possibly the book-binder himself), slight spotting to blank preliminaries and rear blanks, and lightly bumped corners; otherwise a very attractive copy, with clean text and illustrations.
This copy inscribed: 'To Stephen Busk, with best wishes from Louise and Gerald Loder, Christmas, 1894' on a blank preliminary.
[NOTE: Gerald (Walter Erskine) Loder, title 1st Baron Wakehurst (1861-1936), married Lady Louise de Vere Beauclerk (1869-1958) making this copy an item coming from the library of this aristocratic family, before presenting it to Stephen Busk, who is presumably Baron Wakehurst's brother-in-law ('Busk' being the Baron's mother's maiden name).]
