This is the original highly important 16pp. pamphlet written by Mandela and constitutes "A Report of the 3-Day Strike in South Africa on May 29, 30, and 31, 1961", which coincides with the proclamation of the Republic of South Africa. Pre imprisonment Mandela items are as scarce as hen's teeth. Journal/magazine articles exist but are seldom encountered. But solo Mandela items are highly sought after and rare. This copy is in lightly used but intact stapled integral paperwraps, which have a light crease from folding. It was published by Mandela himself as Honorary Secretary of the All-In-African National Action Council. The closing paragraph reads: "The strike at the end of May was only the beginning of our campaign. We are now launching a full-scale, countrywide campaign of non-cooperation with the Verwoerd Government, until we have won an elected National Convention, representing all the people of this country, with the power to draw up and enforce a new democratic constitution". A most important document - it would take 33 years, 27 of which would be spent in prison, for his aims to be achieved!
