With announcement of an exhibition of the works of Bill Davis, with this book as an important part of the display to be held by Nedbank in Johannesburg, three printed pages on the artist, and a brochure titled ‘A Selection of Works by Cape Artists’, to accompany an exhibition at the Roodepoort Museum, at which Davis’ work was displayed, and which has an entry on him in Afrikaans.
Large, folio-sized hardcover book with 13 woodcuts, and quotes from the book of Genesis from the Revised Standard Bible on facing pages.
Limited edition of 500 copies, of which this is no. 58. Signed by the artist.
Condition: Good-Very Good. Dust jacket has some slight edgewear, and a few minor spots of soiling to the rear of dust jacket. Minor, superficial chip to bottom of front free endpaper. Split to gutter between front free endpaper and title page, running roughly halfway through the gutter. A faint mildew odour to pages. All else fine. Internally clean and well bound.
