Compendium of African exploration from Mungo Park onwards until the end of the Victorian era. 532 pp with frontis portrait (with small sticker) and numerous text engravings and plates, as well as folding map, which has been clumsily repaired with sellotape.Blind-stamped covers with gilt show some wear, especially on corners, textblock has some fingering marks and a few stray spots of foxing, otherwise good condition. Hinges are cracked but holding.
