First edition: 544 pages, frontispiece, 34 plates, folding map, pictorial grey cloth titled in black on upper cover with a vignette of the head of a zebra and gilt on the spine, starting to fray at the top and the bottom of the spine, uncut fore-edge and top edge with foxing, original patterned endpapers, book plate and signature of Abel Chapman on the front paste down end paper, starting to wear at the front hinge, corners lightly bumped, a good copy.

Recrossing the Kalahati expedition took trophy eland. There is a chapter on the distribution of large game.
