Pictorial frontispiece of Jan van Riebeeck; profusely illustrated throughout in black and white full page photographic plates, line drawings and photographs in the text. The city Arms are illustrated in colour, in the text.
The City institutions, sights and amenities are described in detail. The last few pages cover Somerset West, Wellington and Stellenbosch.
The book is in Good condition with a firm binding and is unblemished except for a brown smudge at the bottom of the Frontispiece and the first six pages.
