Katherine "Kitty" Oppenheimer (née Puening; August 8, 1910 – October 27, 1972) was a German-American biologist, botanist, and a member of the Communist Party of America. She is best known as the wife of activist Joe Dallet, and then of physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer,the director of the Manhattan Project's Los Alamos Laboratory during World War II.
