With some other valuable documentary material, including a later diary entry of 27 April 1902, the book is a transcription of a diary the author kept between 12 May and 9 July 1902 when she served as a nurse at the Irene concentration camp.
The frontispiece shows her in a Red Cross nurse's uniform and this photograph carries her facsimile signature. There is one other portrait plate. The author writes that it was only after reading Emily Hobhouse's reports on conditions in the camps that she decided to make her own small contribution available to a wider readership. Green cloth-board covers,130 pages. Previous ownership on front blank page.
A nice copy of a rarity.
