Dorothy Fairbridge (1861-1931) was a distinguished South African historian, novelist and travel writer. Jan Smuts (1870-1950), South African statesman. founder of the League of Nations and an anti-apartheid supporter, has written the three page preface. An attractively produced work on good quality paper. xvii, with erratum. 191 pages text with supporting photographs including colour plates.
