Of South African interest in volume 1: Chapter XV - The Kaffir Wars and the First Boer War 1843-1859. (28 pages in total)                     

Of South African interest in volume 2: Chapters XXIX -XXXII. (86 pages in total). The opening of the Boer Wars, the capture of the capitals, the Battle of Diamond Hill, the pursuit of De Wet, the actions at Vlakfontein and Moedwil. The Mounted Infantry Companies 1.  

Inscription on ffep reads: Presented by the Colonel and Officers of the Sherwood Foresters in memory of your service with the 2nd Battalion of the Regiment.

Condition: Light foxing throughout volumes. Foxing to page ends. One plate and one page loose. Two corners bumped. Clean content without ink or inscriptions.
