The official history of the war in South Africa 1899-1902 complete in four volumes together with four volumes of maps and sketches.

Volume one relates to war preparations, the theatre of operations and the respective armies. The record of the campaign is drawn up to mid-February 1900, prior to Lord Roberts advance on Bloemfontein.

Volume two commences with the Relief of Kimberley and ends with the final phase of the Ladysmith siege (March 1900). Chapters relate to the Paardeberg operations, the occupation of Bloemfontein, the campaign in the Orange Free State and operations in Natal for the relief of Ladysmith.

Volume three embraces operations in Cape Colony to July 1900, the advance from Bloemfontein to Pretoria and further operations in the Transvaal and Orange River Colony.

Volume four includes a record of operations on all fronts (with the exception of Natal) from December 1900 to the conclusion of peace.

Extensive appendices are common to all volumes and each is fully indexed. Four volumes of loose and freehand sketches complete the set. The maps are numbered 1-64. (Some in multiple sections).
