How it works

First UK edition, first impression of this massive work by Bertrand Russell who won the 1950 Nobel Prize for literature, possibly largely as a result of this work. In remarkably near fine condition in dw. for this large volume of 916pp. There are two bookplates on the front pastedown and slight offsetting to the free endpapers, ow. the book is clean and unmarked and more than likely unread. The fragile postwar dw. (printed on the verso of a wartime map) is complete and has very minimal edge wear. An important book and unusual in such nice collectable condition.
