Hutchinson, London, 1954. 1st UK edition. Very good original cloth in a very good complete pictorial dust jacket. Internally fine with numerous black and white photo ills. Sketch drawings by the author. 64 pages. Scarce UK edition.

Hunting Classic that made Ruark famous as an African hunter.  The safari started in Nairobi, where the Ruarks hired Harry Selby, one of the best professional hunters in the business. With him came a group of native runners and bearers, a jeep, and a broken-down lorry. One of the best writers of our time shares his experiences of an African safari,  the ferocity of a wounded buffalo, the acid sweat of fear and the lure of the kill.
