Czech (Dr. Kenneth) An Annotated Bibliography of African Big Game Hunting Books 1785-1999 page 178: A wealthy Philadelphian, Madeira and wife travelled to East Africa in 1907. They hunted buffalo near the Athi Plains, as well as cheetah, eland, waterbuck and other antelopes. Nearing the Tana River, they bagged rhino, hippo, then buffalo again. On the Laikipia Plains, lion and gazelle were taken. During their journey back to the coast, Madeira succeeded in bagging leopard, topi and roan antelope. There were tense hours when Mrs. Madeira became lost in the bush. A chronicle of a true, old-fashioned hunting expedition.
