Excerpts in the manuscript read as follows:
Wednesday 3rd August: Reached Shingwedzi Game Reserve soon after lunch. The reserve is a gorgeous forest not too thick to be able to see through.

Thursday 4th August: left Koetzer's place at 10am and continued another 36 miles thorugh the forest to the Portuguese border - Pafuri

Tuesday 9th August: Came across a herd of roan and having tracked them for about 2 and a half hours we all had a chance of shooting. Crossed spoor of 3 elephant and heard a lion in the distance but saw neither.

Saturday August 27th : Packed up and moved off at 7 o'clock about 3 and a half miles to a string of game pools, said to be smothered in game.

Saturday September 3rd: Saw lots of game and shot another nyala. I loafed and painted a Lichtenstein's haartebeest .

Saturday September 10th: Saw a fine sable bull and a dam great herd of waterbuck – about 40. Buck and Tyron in search of elepant across the river- much spoor about.

Tuesday September 13th: Cutting of tusks rather wonderful - all chipped out with a couple of axes and hardly a mark on the tusks.

Thursday September 15th: The boys came in and said there was a fine leopard in the trap.

From the Feltham family archive of a hunting safari undertaken in August and September 1921.

Henry Feltham was a prominent lawyer in Johannesburg and owner of the Stellenberg Estate in Kenilworth in the Cape. He died in Johannesburg on14 June 1929.
Extracted from his obituary in The Star 14 June 1929: A link with the early days of Kimberley and Johannesburg has been broken by his death. A charming personality and cultured gentleman, who was one of the best known and highly respected citizens of Johannesburg. Between 1884 and 1898 he pleaded at the Bar in Kimberley. He was attracted to Johannesburg where there was greater scope and opportunity for his professional ability. He was a recognised authority on company law and company practice in South Africa.

Most of this hunting expedition took place in the greater area of the Kruger National Park. Shingwedzi lies in the northern part of the Kruger National Park in the heart of mopane country - (August 3rd) https://www.sanparks.org/parks/kruger/camps/shingwedzi/

Pafuri Camp - is located at Southern Africa’s Premier Transfrontier Area - between the Limpopo and Luvuvhu River - the meeting point of South Africa, Mozambique and Zimbabwe (August 4th) http://www.krugerpark.co.za/Kruger_Park_Private_Concession_Lodging-travel/pafuri-camp.html

The area spanning from the Pafuri Border Post in the Kruger National Park to Chiqualaquala, the border between Mozambique and Zimbabwe, is densely populated whilst offering a charming landscape and the remnants of the history of the three countries that still pervades the location.
