An anthology of writings by famous hunters on their experiences with African buffalo. Compiled and edited by Jim Rikhoff, president of the National Sporting Fraternity Limited.

Signed by Rikhoff on the limitation page and additionally inscribed by Rikhoff on the verso of the half-title page to fellow hunter Don Lindsay, "To Don Lindsay, who could add many stories to this volume!! All the best. Jim Rikhoff '85".

Don Lindsay was an icon of hunting and conservation. He was a founding member of the International Professional Hunter's Association (IPHA) and served as its president for 14 years. He was also a founding member of the Professional Hunter's Association of South Africa (PHASA), where he served as president for 9 years. PHASA is a professional hunter's association which has become the largest and most influential in the world today.

There is inscription on the recto of the half-title page by Tony Sanchez, "To Don Lindsay, a great hunter and a super-friend! Yours, Tony Sanchez 23/3/85."

Tony Sanchez is a former professional ivory hunter and the author of numerous books on elephant hunting.
