Edited by J W N Tempelhoff in conjunction with R. van Niekerk, C. Heine, R. Pelser & J. Oosthuizen. 108 pages.
In a series of letters to his wife, Jane, the Vereeniging pioneer, T.N. Leslie, vividly recorded what happened in the city during the Anglo-Boer War 1899-1902. In his familiar colourful style of writing he sketched pen pictures of life in the young mining town. As an avid amateur photographer Leslie also saved for posterity a number of valuable images of Vereeniging at the turn of the century.
