This is a scarce South African Art item and substantially less common than the matching volume "Images of Metal" by the same author. The exhibition catalogue of wooden sculptures at the Johannesburg Art Gallery in 1989 featuring all the major artists who worked in this medium including Lucas Sithole, Lucky Sibiya, Moses Kottler, Lippy Lipschitz, Ernest Mancoba and many others. 180 glossy 4to. pages in original illustrated wraps with multiple illustrations. This is almost certainly an unread copy and would have been fine but has a crease of the rear wrapper and some light creasing of about 4 adjoining pages due to poor storage. (see images). Still a more than acceptable copy of this title.
