This book has the purple ownership stamp of Orlando Paes. Many in the hunting fraternity need no introduction to the Mamede family of professional big game hunters. The \"Orlando Paes\" stamp also occurs on the last page. The front paste down has the book plate of Charles Theodore Holland. Napier Devitt\'s name in pen on the half title. Devitt was the author of Africana interest books. Rowland Ward label on front paste down. Original light brown pictorial cloth boards with gilt titling on the spine and black on the upper board. Black end papers. xvi prelims, 567 pages, 16 full page black and white illustrations including frontis, 24 in text black and white illustrations and a folding coloured map. CONDITION DETAILS: The binding is worn. The cloth at the head of the spine has tears and at the bottom of the spine there is some loss of surface. The picture of a leopard on the upper board is no longer clear and bright. Some soiling, with bumped and frayed corners. Internally a few soil marks, but reasonably clean internally. The folding map has some foxing, but the face of the map itself is clean.
