The three original photographs sold with this lot are stuck onto the front and rear paste downs. A pen inscription on the rear paste down notes that these photographs were taken in 1895. The photograph on the front paste down is of the author and the two on the rear paste down are of the Boson camp. There is a book plate on the front paste down.
Original dark blue cloth with bevel edge boards and gilt titling on the spine and the upper board with a gilt decoration. Top edge blue. Decorated end papers. viii prelims, errata slip, 431 pages, fold out sketch map, 26 photographic plates.
CONDITION DETAILS: The binding is soiled and worn and the hinges are cracked. A well used copy, with the main interest being in the three original photographs taken during the author's travels.
