1925, xii, 305 pp with a large folding map bound in after text. At the height of the 'Great Game' tensions between british India and Russia, Leuit.-Colonel Etherton, in his capacity as British Consul-General and Political Resident in Chinese Turkistan, led an expedition in 1918 north from Kashmir thru Hunza and thence to Central Asia , Chinese Turkistan and Mongolia in order to ascertain what the Soviets were up to.

Ex-library copy still in good cobndition. Folding map at rear, pages clean, binding tight.
