Published by London: Published by W.H. Allen & Co., Waterloo Place, Pall Mall, 1884. First edition. Royal octavo (26 x 18cm). Published at 21s. 'An excellent work, beautifully illustrated, recounting the author's hunting trips for a variety of large and small game in India's Bombay Presidency.

With a frontis & 11 plates, all tinted lithographs, plus 2 wood-engravings on the letterpress. A very clean copy in the publisher's green cloth, gilt, with bevelled boards. Rubbed at head & tail of spine. Gilt dulled. Rear panel faded. Inscription of front pastedown. One coloured plate edge worn.

There are chapters on the pursuit of blackbuck, nilgai, cheetal, panther, sambur, and bison, plus sections on hunting lion in Kathiawar and on pig sticking in the region'- Czech. pp. iv,221,[7].
