An almost complete set of this highly sought after literary and art periodical of the nineteen seventies. The complete series comprises 20 numbers in 19 volumes. The set on offer comprises 18 volumes, missing only Vol.1 No.2. All but two of the volumes are complete with the accompanying graphics by well known South African artists. The set comprises:

2. Vol. 1, No.3. Cover by Phil du Plessis and signed graphic (42/200) by Christo Coetzee.

3. Vol. 1, No. 4. Cover and signed graphic 983/250) by Nosugref (H.M. Ferguson).

4. Vol. 1, No. 5. Note: Graphic by Helmut Starke is missing.

5. Vol. 1, No. 6. Cover and signed Silkscreen (192/222) by Peter Clarke.

6. Vol. 2, No. 7. Signed graphic 9277/280) by Johan van Heerden.

7. Vol. 2, No. 8. Cover by David Roger and signed graphic (243/250) by Walter Battiss (orgy drawing).

8. Vol. 2, No. 9. Cover by Alexis Preller, signed graphic (194/250) by Wopko Jensma and silkscreen poster designed by Wopko Jensma.

9. Vol. 2, No.10. Signed graphic (194/250) by Dirk Meerkotter.

10. Vol. 2, No. 11. Cover by Paul Aitchison and pull-out poster by Richard Smith.

11. Vol. 2, No. 12. Silkscreen by Anna Vorster and signed graphic (44/300) by Nils Burwitz.

12. Vol. 3, No. 13. Cover and signed graphic (105/250) by Christo Coetzee and pull-out poster by John van Breda.

13. Vol. 3, No. 14. Covers (front and rear – Probable original woodcut) by Cecil Skotnes and signed silkscreen 9265/380) by Berenice Michelow.

14. Vol. 3, No. 15. Signed graphic (61/320) by Ian Rogers.

15. Vol. 3, No. 16. Fook Island issue. Missing brown envelope cover. But containing signed graphic (179/350) by Norman Catherine and poster by Walter Battiss. Additionally signed by Catherine on the page opposite to his graphic.

16. Vol. 3, No. 17. Cover and signed graphic (11/350) by Raymond Andrews and cut-out poster by Christo Coetzee.

17. Vol. 3, No. 18. Signed graphic (150/350) by Keri Swift.

18. Vol. 4, No.’s 19 & 20. Farewell Double Issue. Cover by Alice Golden, signed graphic (206/350) by Leo Theron and poster by Christo Coetzee.

It must be noted that some of the signed works, called "graphics", are prints and not original graphics. Several, however, are original graphic works and many of the covers are also original graphics. The Peter Clarke graphic, for example, is an original silkscreen. There are a multitude of literary contributions by the likes of Peter Wilhelm, Wilma Stockenstrom, Sydney Sepamla, Sheila Roberts, Stephen Gray, Christopher Hope and many others too numerous to mention.

The condition of this set is excellent, most copies being near fine to fine. There is no foxing and the graphics are all in fine state.

All issues of this periodical are scarce – some of the highspots ie. the Clarke, the Battiss and the Fook Island issue – exceedingly so. Printing numbers varied from 200-350 as can be seen from the numbered limitations on the graphics. An almost full set such as this one on offer is most unusual.
