568pp. exhaustive annual reference book on the world's combat and supply vessels, which, in 1936, records the armaments build up just prior to the Second World War, with 25 pages on Germany alone, and 96 pages on the British Navy.
Book condition: navy boards are worn at the spine ends, corners bumped and slightly frayed, the f.f.e-p., bearing the stamp of 'The Star Reference Library', and the advertisers' page (verso of aforementioned) with hand-written notes, presumably by The Star's editor, due to a note in the same hand: 'rec. in files 9.1.37' next to the stamp. These notes are then repeated (in typed format) and pasted in at the rear end-paper. Condition of book: the contents are in good condition, except that the binding is cracked affecting the gathering from pages 76 to 106, and exposing the top edges of these pages, which are creased as a result.
