Jock - The Art of Edmund Caldwell

A fine hand made book with a description of the processes used to produce it on the last page. The beautiful illustrations of the Jock of the Bushveld.

Both volumes are limited copies no 231 of 250.

Volume 1 - 260 pages, 8 full page colour plates, full page washes, the "Jock of the Bushveld" illustrations and drawings in black and white.

Volume II - xxvi, 218 pages, some monochrome illustrations and 44 full page colour plates and 2 maps, one of which is a double page.

Both volumes original quarter red leather binding with gilt titling on the spine and oatmeal coloured textured cloth boards with a decorative device with the initials "EC" (Edmund Caldwell) stamped in gilt on the upper board. All edges coloured red. Very minor foxing on endpapers and one or two other pages but textblock and plates clean. The inserted biography along with 2 other loose pages is heavily foxed.
