3 volumes (xlvi, 395 pages; 406 pages; 531 pages): portrait as frontispiece in each volume, maps. Cloth, with some scarring and volume III is faded on spine. Name on front free endpaper and cellotape marks to the front endpaper of volume II. Translated from the original Dutch by various translators.

Van Riebeeck kept a detailed journal of all matters pertaining to the establishment of a settlement at the Cape.
