Rare inscribed copy of the only published book by the celebrated first Japanese-American photo journalist who earned immortality for covering the infamous 1929 Chicago Underground “Valentine’s Day murders.”  He is also recognized as  the first American poet to compose poems in the classical Japanese  “tanka” verse, a  thirty-one-syllable poem, traditionally written in a single unbroken line, collected here.

Spine cloth chipped and worn; lI tart label, bookplate; pocket and other pastedowns inside back cover & facing leaf;  pencil marking at gutter of one leaf.
