1 volume (no pagination): illustrations, portraits. Quarto. Paperback. Originally published in 1986 as the tenth anniversary edition.
In the foreword, Archbishop Desmond Tutu calls Peter Magubane "a consummate artist with the lens". It was Magubane's photographs which best encapsulated the events of mid-1976 in Soweto and it made him an international figure in journalism. Tutu also points out that at the time of the publication of this book by Skotaville, the crisis which started on 16 June 1976 had "deepened". A classic among the books depicting the struggle to liberate South Africa from Apartheid.
