The now scarce first edition of this title. The adventurous life of Major Pretorius born in the Transvaal, South Africa and spending his life hunting the wild animals of Africa. During the East African Campaign in World War I, he served as chief of scouts for Field Marshal Smut's forces. Numerous black and white photographs. Introduction by Field-Marshall J.C. Smuts. Nice mapped endpapers of Southern Africa. 232pp. in the original red cloth with dustwrapper.
There is minimal shelf rubbing of the lower edge of the front board, otherwise this is a near fine clean, unmarked and unfoxed copy. In an about very good dustwrapper which has a 12mm by 12mm triangular chip at the lower fore corner of the front panel and several other smaller chips.
