Fountain pen inscription and dotted illustration by Cirupula to title page.

Some chunks missing from bottom edge and top of DW spine. Previous owner's name penned 3 times to front EP's (3 x changes of address; Luanshya N.R., Salisbury and Johannesburg). Brown cellotape marks to front and back EP's. Light foxing to first and last few pages. The cloth, EP joints and internal bindings are very good.

John Edward Stephenson (Chirupula), working for Cecil Rhodes, was one of the earliest administrators spearheading the "Great Builder's" drive to develop and settle Northern RHodesia at the turn of the century. This is the story of Chirupula Stephenson's treks and adventures between 1896 and 1950.
