326 pages: 1 folding map. Cloth, dustwrapper frayed along edges, with chips to spine. Gift inscription on front free endpaper. Bears book ticket of Unie-Boekhandel, Pretoria.

"'n Klaenswaardige verhaal van gedane-en sleggedane sake" title page.

Faber & Faber of London also published an identical edition to this A.C. White edition in the same year. Reitz first wrote Commando (1929) in Dutch and English. It was only in 1944 that it was translated by Susanne du Plessis into Afrikaans, the "moedertaal" (mother tongue) of those in the commandos. Also present is the errata slip; and the scarce dustwrapper is in particularly good condition.
