221 and 6 pages Table and colophon, large 4to (37 x 28 cms), half title page printed with gilt embossed type, frontispiece and 57 coloured lithographs by Kees Van Dongen, text decorated with red and green initials, top edge gilt others uncut, silk place marker, bound in three quarter maroon morocco with marbled boards and endpapers, the leather is worn along the edges and at the corners, contents bright.
Colophon reads: Ce livre, établi par la Docteur A. ROUDINESCO pour le Groupe de Bibliophiles et d’Amateurs d’Art << SCRIPTA et PICTA >> a été commencé en Novembre 1946 et terminé en Décembre 1951. Les images ont été dessinées sur pierre en noir et en coleurs – chaque couleur sur une pierre différente, par le peintre VAN DONGEN…. Il a été imprimé deux cents dix exemplaires sur vélin Lana…..Quelques exemplaires nominatifs ont été reservés aux principaux collaborateurs.
