II. xii + 200 (the text is repeated in English and French ) + 66 pages appendix, + 4 additional unnumbered pages in the first section, numerous photogravure plates, decorated red cloth, spine gilt and starting to tear at the bottom, hinges split but holding on to the netting.

Hackett (R.G.) South African War Books, An Illustrated Bibliography (1994), page 51: A patriotic tribute published in English and French. A volume consisting of stories, letters and biographical notices of Canadians involved in the war. With lists of Corps embarked for South Africa, reinforcements and a list of casualties.

Mendelssohn (Sidney) South African Bibliography volume 1, page 858: A series of biographical notices, letters, incidents, and accounts relating to the Canadian Contingents in the South African War. The volume is written partly in English and partly in French, and contains lists of the officers and men who took part in the campaign.
