The later light brown calf leather bindings with red and black title labels and marbled paper covered boards probably date from the Victorian era. Each book of this complete 3 volume set has the same marbled paper end papers and the same design on all the edges. Each volume has black and white engraved illustrations with tissue guards. 

Volume one has xii prelims, 614 pages, 16 plates. Volume two has 4 prelims, 612 pages, 14 plates. Volume 3 has 4 prelims, 628 pages and 14 plates.

CONDITION DETAILS: The bindings have some wear - see images. Some of the plates have some stain marks - images have been provided of the most noteworthy.
