Thisis a very good plus tight clean copy of the "New Edition" published very soon after the first edition in 1900. It is identical to the first except for the words New Edition on the title page. Although less desirable and less expensve than the first printing,it is substantially scarcer. According to the Churchill bibliograpy by Woods, there were 10,000 copies of the first printing and only 500 of this edition. This is a very good plus tight clean copy. The joints and hinges are intact and there is a bookplate and another label on the front pastedown. There is no foxing. The maps are present and fine. The only defect is large signature spread over much of the title page.
