This book contains two loose inserts - see images. The first one is a \"Certificate of Authenticity\" which is signed by Mandela, dated 26 September 2000, witnessed and also signed by Roy S. Pfeil of the Easton Press. The second insert is a note about the Long Walk to Freedom and the author, printed on both sides. Mandela\'s signature occurs on the first page of the book - see image. There are therefore two Mandela signatures in this lot. Original dark green full leather binding with gilt titling on the spine and gilt decorations in three compartments between the raised bands and elaborate gilt decorations on both the upper and lower board. All edges gilt. Light rust/pink coloured silky end papers. Yellow ribbon place marker. 14 prelims, 558 pages, illustrated in black and white, double page map of South Africa after the half title page, and three sections of black and white photographic plates. CONDITION DETAILS: The \"Certificate of Authenticity\" has some light creases. Several signs of handling or use. See images for some of these flaws, such as page corner folds, ink marks on a page, etc., etc. Please contact us for more details, if required.
