The fairly scarce first edition of this early monograph (in Afrikaans) on this major South African artist. In the original beige/grey cloth binding with green lettering on the front panel and spine.
This title is notoriously found in poor condition and this is a better than average about very good clean copy. The cloth is a little marked, has some minor fraying in a couple of small areas on the spine and has some uneven fading. The boards are mildly bowed. There are two dated ownership signatures on the ffep., one dated 1945 and one dated 1988. Otherwise the book is internally clean and unmarked.
