Chapman was a naturalist and hunter, friend of Selous and Millais, as well as the artist W H Riddell. He travelled widely and was the author of a number of ornithological books, as well as two hunting books on his African experiences. Memories contains a number of chapters dealing with North and South African journeys, as well as his trips to Spain and birding in Northumberland.

257 pp with bw frontis, 25 colour and 3 bw plates by Riddell and numerous text drawings by the author as well as two sketch maps

Good condition in original covers, with slight edgewear only; dustjacket in protector, has a large chip missing from top of spine.
