West, portrait, 1 other double-tinted lithograph by West opposite page 66, 1 single tinted lithograph from a sketch by C. Bell opposite page 225, and printed by West, 42 wood engraved plates and other illustrations (including a folding geological cross section of south central Africa), 2 folding maps by Arrowsmith - 1 in pocket in back cover, original blind stamped brown cloth, titled gilt on the back, foxing and offsetting on the tinted lithographs, foxing on the frontispiece, edges uncut, original endpapers with a light blue pattern and with the binder’s ticket of Edmonds & Remnants, London at the bottom of the rear paste-down endpaper, back hinge split but holding on to the netting, overall a very good copy in the original cloth and endpapers.
