First edition of the account of Livingstone’s first great expedition (1853-56), during which he explored the Zambesi and its Victoria Falls.

One of the most important of all 19th century books on African exploration by one of the greatest explorer/missionaries of all time.

Inside there are 47 plates some vith views (Victoria Falls, Lake Ngami, Angola, Pungo Andongo etc…) some are folded and maps (South Africa, Map of Dr. Livingstone’s Route).

Contents: [IX+(1)+687+(1)]. In 8 (8.9 x 5.9 in; 22 x 150 mm) Weight Kg. 1,144.

Condition of contents: Good conditions. Occasional Foxing.

Condition of binding: Half leather coeval cover with spine title leather label. Occasional foxing. Light crack in the front hidge.
