A bookplate of previous owner on fep. xiii, 266 pages, 12 plates (1 as frontispiece). Uncut paper edges. Frontispiece of Baynes. Chapters:  Estcourt, Daily duties, at the front with General Buller, crossing the Tugela, fighting at Spion Kop, from Cape Town to Kimberley......  A good copy.

A diary kept by the Bishop from September 29, 1899, to March 1900. The contents afford considerable information respecting the Natal campaign. (Mendelssohn's South African Bibliography volume 1 page 99)
