This is the 20th volume in the Africana Collectanea Series. Of the 750 numbered copies, numbers 1 to 50 were bound in the "de luxe" style. This edition has an introduction, biographical and historical notes by A. M. Lewin Robinson. Original brown leather spine and corners with a green title label on the spine with gilt titling and the publisher's device on the upper board. xiv prelims, 351 pages, 2 maps, one folding, 8 black and white illustrations drawn from various sources, such as the Elliot Collection. CONDITION DETAILS: Book plate on front paste down. The end papers have some browning. Internally clean and attractive. The binding has no wear or marks that are worth mentioning - a decent copy overall.
