The first specialised book on birds of the region. Original blue cloth. Pp. v,215, colour frontispiece. This book belonged to Henry Tryon, with his signature on the front paste-down & a neat inscription on title-page, concerning his brother Walter Tryon, who is mentioned on page 99 of this book, with reference to his observations of a bird in Ifafa. Henry Tryon surmises that Walter's "tragic death" must be the explanation for no other of his observations being published in the book. Spine slightly frayed at head & foot, slightly marked, as is the front cover, end-papers browned, frontispiece & title-page loose. But a rather nice copy, with a Sawyers invoice dated 1970 for 27 pounds loosely inserted
