The book contains an Appendix: Address from the Representatives of the German and Portuguese Congregations of Zafed, and a foldout-form of the lists giving a statistical account of the children of Israel, dwelling in the Holy land-In the year 5599-1839.
Previous owners pencil inscription throughout the book, and the top right end-paper has been cut. There is some minor foxing towards the front/back of the book; overall the binding and the book are on good condition.

Thursday, November 1, 1838. - The preliminary arrangements having been completed, we took our leave of the many dear friends, whose ardent wishes for our welfare, meeting the feelings natural to those who are about to enter upon a long, and perhaps dangerous journey, gave to the moment of departure a sentiment of mingled pain and pleasure.
