A copy rebound for library use in a half binding of marbled paper on board and red leather, no dust-wrapper thus. The front cover and frontispiece were folded over diagonally and the board was repaired with green cloth patches. Octavo (150 x 217mm), 13 preliminary and 338 pages of text; portrait frontispiece. Some wear to head and tail. Condition Good for its age and history. This, posthumously published book, records the final adventures of the author, in the area now known as Namibia, the narrative being continued up to the time of his death on the banks of the Cunene river. The Ovambo Tribe, a warlike race in the north, are described and there are interesting notes about the game birds of the country. There is less emphasis on hunting than in the author's earlier books, because he had been severely wounded in a battle with Namaquas. There is, however, a chapter on leopard hunting.
