xiv, (Directions to binder & Errata leaf), 163 pages, hand coloured aquatint frontispiece, and 7 folding hand coloured aquatint plates by J.C. Stadler, after drawings by R. Cocking from sketches by Corry, recently rebound in half brown leather which is titled and decorated in gilt on the spine, brown cloth sides. The title page, dedication leaf and the preface (4 leaves) are supplied in facsimile, the half title page has been laid down on the verso of the frontispiece, a tear in the folding plate at page 33, ‘Bance Island in the River Sierra Leone,’ penetrates to the plate mark but does not affect the printed surface, occasional minor foxing, the remnants of a silk place marker have slightly stained pages 68/69, the plates are bright and well coloured.
