Nine preliminary pages plus 318 pages of text plus two pages of appendix. 12mo (150mm x 218mm) hardcover book in the original publisher’s green cloth with gilt titles to front and spine. No dust-wrapper. The book is in Fair to Good condition with the top of the spine missing and wear around the edges of the cover.

The book is based on a diary compiled from letters to hi home by Sgt. Inder. When war with the South African republics became inevitable, the St John’s Ambulance Brigade could immediately field numbers of trained men to provide efficient assistance to the Royal Army Medical Corps, in first aid and nursing. Sgt. Inder was one of these.
