Description:
A brief monograph (6 pages) on the Pit monotypes and the Domestic Scenes mixed etchings, two extremely important (but widely ignored) early series of prints (1979-1980) by William Kentridge. Cole argues that these prints defined Kentridge's artistic identity, which later manifested itself in such disparate fields as set design, film, puppetry, and even directing opera. Cole also provides information necessary for the material study of these prints: editions, types of paper used, etc. 3 loose pages (printed both sides), high-quality black & white reproductions. EDITION LIMITED TO 50 NUMBERED COPIES, ALL SIGNED BY KENTRIDGE AND BY COLE. Loose as issued in wraps. Very tiny crease on the top left hand cover (hardly visible), else Fine, As New.
