Original Mourlot Lithographed Exhibition Poster + 9 other British Posters

This Lot is a collection of the following 10 Art Exhibition Posters:

1) Braque, Georges - Original lithograph by Mourlot in Paris for the Tate Gallery Exhibition 28 September to 11 November 1956. Size: 757mm x 507mm. There is a 2 cm closed tear to the bottom edge. Some creases, especially at the edges. The stains - see images - are also visible on the reverse side.

2) Arts Council Gallery exhibition poster printed by Les Presses Antiques - French Drawings - Fouquet to Gauguin - 2 February to 15 March 1952. Size: 738mm x 508mm. A few stains on the reverse side are also visible on the front side. Some creases and closed tears.

3) Art Council of Great Britain - The New American Painting - 24 February to 22 March (circa 1959) at the Tate. No printer named. 735mm x 507mm. Some edge creases.

4) Arts Council of Great Britain at the Tate - Shenval Press printing - Joseph Wright of Derby - 11 April to 18 May. Size: 760mm x 495mm. Some edge creases, especially on the right hand side.

5) Arts Council of Great Britain - Curwen Press printing - Gaudier-Brzeska - December 8 to January 19. Size: 760mm x 495mm. Some creases, especially on the edges.

6) Paintings from the Louvre - Manet and his circle at the Tate Gallery - 24 April to 7 June. Printed by Harrison and Sons. Size: 760mm x 507mm. Several closed tears, especially along the top edge. There are small stains on the reverse side that are barely visible from the front, unless the poster is held up to the light.

7) Arts Council of Great Britain at the Tate - Shenval Press printing - Yugoslav Mediaeval Frescoes - 23 October to 13 December. 762mm x 502mm. Edge creases and closed tears, especially at the top and a tear on the left hand side.

8) Arts Council of Great Britain - Shenval Press printing - Alberto Giacometti - 4 June to 9 July (circa 1955) Size: 760mm x 499mm. Some creases.

9)An Arts Council Exhibition at the Tate - Paintings from the Niarchos Collection - 23 May to 29 June. Poster printed by the Shenval Press. Size: 760mm x 505mm. Some creases, especially along the top edge and right hand side.

10) An Arts Council Exhibition - George Stubbs - Rediscovered Anatomical Drawings - 22 November to 13 December. Shenval Press. Size: 760mm x 504mm. Creases and small tears, especially along the top edge.

CONDITION DETAILS: None of these posters have been framed or mounted.  All these posters were kept rolled up for many decades, so when unrolled, they tend to curl up again. The Braque poster is the most important one in this job-lot and close up digi-images are provided to show stains, edge tears, etc.
